A Sickly Season

Well this winter has been the WORST for sickness in the Haas Household.

Steph - stomach flu, pinkeye and really bad viral cold
Dave - pretty certain he had H1N1, but they don't test for it anymore
Lily - stomach flu and bronchitis
Lauren - possibly had H1N1 - temps reached 105 and also bronchial pneumonia
Natalie - 6 ear infections and several times with pinkeye

How's that for a bad winter? Natalie is getting tubes mid-February to see if that can help with her ear infections.

On a better note.....we're all anxiously awaiting Spring....

Winter

We've been dumped on with snow this winter. The girls were only able to go out once to play in the snow, it's been so darn cold. One snow day at home, Dave took Lauren sledding in the yard and that following weekend he took Lily to the hill in Sidney. Me and Natalie stayed inside (and warm) both times.

Holidays

Christmas this year was truly wonderful. The girls were a lot of fun and Lauren was really into the season and talking about Santa even though she refused to sit on his lap. She did yell to Santa from Dad's arms that she wanted a dollhouse and a Thomas Table and then quickly snatched her candy cane. We celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at our new house and it was great being at home surrounded by family.

We also hosted our annual Christmas Party with friends, this year it was "Ugly Christmas Sweater" themed and we all had tons of fun seeing the interesting sweaters. Mike Siems and Bridget Haas won for best sweaters. We even handed out prizes (if you can call them that), Mike got a watch that was free with purchase and Bridget got the Smores Maker we recieved as a wedding gift that still had a garage sale sticker on it.

New Year's Eve, Rodeens, Siems, Boyers, and Swans gathered at our house for a night of food, drinks, and games. All the kiddos had a blast playing together.
All in all the holidays were great, so much fun with family and friends.

Fall

We had a fall photo shoot for the girls by Rob Thomas. He always does a great job, even when Miss Lauren refuses to have her picture taken.

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Lily was a fairy, Lauren a butterfly and Natalie a flower. We made a trip up to Paxton to visit family and friends and then back home to pass out candy to the tricker treaters. Lauren had tons of fun passing the candy out and having friends come into play....not to mention all the candy she consumed.

Getting Started

WELCOME! We've created this family blog to keep everyone updated on all of our family events and watch our three girls grow! Right now we have a LOT of changes happening so let me me bring you up to speed.....

- Natalie Claire Haas joined our family on June 21st . She has had a rough start the past couple of months with feeding issues but she's growing like a weed and happy and smiling all the time.

- Lauren is doing great and makes us laugh every day. I think she's going to be our comedian of the family
- Lily has started the 6th grade this year.....crazy how time flies. She's growing up to be a beautiful young lady.
- Stephanie ended up having an emergency appendectomy late August and is recovering well.
- Dave is no longer working for the glass company and is currently in the works of rejoining Rob Thomas to continue his website endeavors. They are both excited to be working together again and have a wonderful new office space in downtown Champaign.
- We're moving! We close on our new house on Oct 1st and still trying to sell our exisiting house. Check our home website for details if you know of anyone looking for a house in Philo. http://www.609garfield.com/file/Welcome.html
- The whole family took a long weekend vacation to Memphis with Jandee, Bernie, Shelbee and Owen and had a great time at Jandee's sister's.

So far, this has been a BUSY and EXCITING year for the Haas Family and looking forward to all that will come with these changes.
